Why relaxation in pregnancy is important for you… and your baby.

➡️ Research into extreme maternal stress during pregnancy shows it has a negative impact on the growth of a baby - both in utero and in their future childhood development… So, by reducing the cortisol levels in mama during pregnancy we can positively impact the healthy development of baba.

💡 One of the many tools that we use in hypnobirthing to support a positive pregnancy and birth experience is consciously building a relaxation practice. And I say ‘practice’ as relaxation is really a skill. We often can’t easily relax on demand - but the more we practise the better and more efficient at it we become. Breathing exercises, guided meditations and self-hypnosis are some of the amazing relaxation techniques we explore that support pregnancy, birth and the day-to-day life of living this human experience!

🕰 And to the mamas-to-be thinking ‘I don’t have time for this’ or that sounds indulgent… remember, taking time in pregnancy to develop a relaxation practice isn’t a selfish ‘luxury’ for ‘you’, it’s for your baby too.
